Fresh from the success of her hit single Inescapable and her duet with Stan Walker last year, Mauboy is a hot talent on the Australian music scene.

he will feature at the Nova 969 Slipper HQ on Slipper day, performing three sets during the afternoon.

Nova’s Fitzy and Wippa will host the day’s hottest spot, located at the 200m mark on the home straight. And you can get up close and personal on the day.

TWO acts that triumphed on reality television talent quests are coming to Mounties next month.

Australian Idol 2009 winner Stan Walker and 2006 runner-up Jessica Mauboy will team up for their Galaxy tour at the club on January 20.

It’s a timely tour for Melbourne-born Walker, who recently released his third album, Let The Music Play.

“I wrote and recorded this album in just four weeks,” Walker said. “It is really kind of just about finding where I am and who I am.”

While he accepts the Idol tag marks his origins as an artist to many, he is determined to cement his future in the music industry.

“I will always recognise Australian Idol as a launching pad but I am constantly evolving as an artist,” Walker said.

While Walker is looking forward to teaming up with friend Mauboy for their show at Mounties, he recently shared the limelight with another special woman. His mum, April, joined him in recording a cover of Songbird for his latest album.

“My family, especially my mum, have supported me all the way we have always sung together so this was something special,” he said.

Walker and Mauboy will perform their solo hits before sharing the stage during their performance at the Mt Pritchard club.
